In 6th Class we had a very exciting Science Week!🧠🧪🧫🧬🔭🔬⚗️🥼
We started by learning about 4 women in STEM – Katherine Johnson, Jane Goodall, Marie Curie and Florence Nightingale. Once we gathered lots of facts about these marvellous women, we then created our own projects on each of these women in groups of 6.
We will be sure to show you these once they are fully complete. Keep an eye out for these on the website. 😉
We learned LOTS about acids and bases. We had so much fun experimenting with these.
We then had the privilege to have Dale in to talk to us about prehistoric species, bugs, trees, and cool devices he brought to us from Australia.
On Friday, we then decide to create our on cretaceous park zoo, similar to that of Jurassic Park. We had to do lots of critical thinking here. We had to make sure the herbivores and carnivores dinosaurs were kept separate. (So they wouldn’t eat each other!) We had to ensure that the dinosaurs were fenced off from humans – some students decided it was best if the humans visiting the park stayed inside an indestructible train to view the different species of dinosaur. This activity was a class favourite that really got us to use our creative minds. 🧠
