GAA Blitz, dance workshop, skipping, bouncy castle, athletics, playground and soccer. What a week we’ve had for Active Week. A big thank you to Ms Tarpey for organising the best Active Week yet and to Dublin City Council who facilitated many of the workshops. Now to finish off a great week with the disco tonight.
Mr Stink, Matilda, Mr Bump, Judy Moody, Charlotte and Fern from Charlotte’s Web were just a few of the characters we had in Room 11 for World Book Day. A Bumper Book Quiz was organised for the senior classes by Ms Cullen, which was great fun. Well done to the winners Team 6.
We started our Run a Mile initiative today as part of our Active School activities. The beautiful weather made it very easy. Hopefully the weather will be like this for next four weeks!
On Friday Third Class took part in a drumming workshop. Everyone got to try a wide variety of drums and did an excellent job at keeping the beat and playing the different rhythms. Great fun was had by all.
Term 3 has got off to a great start for Third Class. The girls started soccer coaching with Keith from the FAI and Fergal from Dublin City Council. Everyone really enjoyed it and is looking forward to this week already.
Third Class studied Egypt in geography and Ancient Egypt in history in term 2. The girls completed projects on Ancient Egypt at home and the results were fantastic. Each girl presented her project to the class which allowed everyone to learn from each other.
Third Class had a great day out today at W5 Science Museum in Belfast. Thanks to Ms Conroy for organising a most enjoyable trip.
Some amazing musicians from Comhaltas Sean Treacy came in to entertain us as part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. As part of Engineering Week, Second and Third Class took part in a Lego Workshop today. Each girl was given a Lego kit and instruction manual and set about constructing a swing boat. Thanks to Julie-Anne from Citi Bank who facilitated the Junior Achievement Programme in 3rd Class recently. The girls really enjoyed learning about the various zones in the city, the different types of businesses, banking and advertising.
