Today there was a protest outside the Dáil that two girls from out class attended with other members of the school. The rest of class along with the other first class and 4th class stood along the Malahide Road with the posters they made chanting ‘Save our Planet’. We have been learning lots about climate […]
We had a fantastic morning in room 9. We had so many lovely visitors come to see how hard we work. We had some of our grannies and grandads, aunties and cousins, mammies and daddies and even little brothers. Thank you all for taking the time to come in today to see us. We really […]
We have been working hard this month learning new things in gymnastics. We learned how to do different rolls, tumbles, jumps and balancing. We finished our month in gymnastics by performing a routine we made ourselves in small groups to the rest of the class. Ms Cullen was very impressed.
We have been working really hard with money this week in maths. We have been ‘buying’ things in our shop, counting out what coins we need to buy something and working out if our customers need change. We also created shopping lists and worked together to buy lots of lovely things off our lists. We […]
Well what an end to the first term. We had a great time performing for you all and getting ready for Christmas. We had Eddie the elf come to visit us over the past two weeks. He even left us a colouring book, a book and reindeer food for each of us. We made lots […]
Both classes really enjoyed doing some yoga this week. It relaxed us and helped stretch out our bodies and help our breathing. We followed Christmas cosmic yoga on YouTube. It’s a great way to calm down after a busy day (especially over Christmas). Try it at home over the break.
We have been learning out our 5 senses. We explored what it might be like to not have sight and our hearing and experimented in a food tasting test using our sense of smell, touch and taste. We had to close our eyes and use our other senses to guess what Ms Cullen was offering […]
We had great fun in room 9 becoming scientists. We created circuits with lights and buzzers, experimented with carbonated drinks and examined an onion skin under the microscope.
We have been working so hard since September so we had a great day today doing lots of exciting things as a treat. Everyone looked amazing all dressed up today. We had our Halloween parade, made ghost cookies, halloween cards for our families and got to stick our hands in a bowl full of ‘brains’ […]
We get up to lots of fun things in room 9. To mark National Tree Day last Friday we gathered fallen leaves from our homes and school to create leaf people. We love how different each of our ‘people’ are. We hope you like them as much as we do. This month our theme in […]
