And so Active Week was brought to a fitting and celebratory conclusion with a wonderful assembly on Friday.
Firstly, we celebrated our Active School Stars by awarding an Active Student of the Week award to the most enthusiastic athlete in each class.
This was followed by our guest speaker, Kate Mulvey, who plays for the Junior Women’s Camogie Team. Her speech gave inspirational encouragement to all our budding GAA stars. After assembly she gave some time to coaching our own camogie team.
Next Ms. Tarpey announced the winners of our Active Week slogan competition, who were awarded some wonderful “Active” prizes. Well done to everyone who composed motivational slogans!
Then, Senior Infants and 6th class led us in some dancing from GoNoodle!

Our wonderful morning finally concluded with a performance from 3rd class including poetry, music and dance.
And no our Active Week was still not complete… some of our Orchard classes, along with Junior and Senior Infants, went for a walk to and around May Park and finished off the excitement with a trip to the playground.
