World Down Syndrome Day in 2nd Class

In Our Lady of Consolation, we pride ourselves in our warm, inclusive school environment. In keeping with this, 2nd Class have been doing a lot of work leading up to today, World Down Syndrome Day, 2019.

They have listened to, discussed and read beautiful books about diversity, they have been learning sign language since September, they have created beautiful art pieces celebrating difference and today, they rocked their funky mismatched socks to celebrate the idea that what makes us different also makes us beautiful.

We were very proud to be invited into Ms Mercier’s class and Ms Cullen’s class to showcase our super sign language skills. We hope you enjoy our video taken in Ms Mercier’s class this morning! Our teacher thinks we are just fabulous at everything we do!
